Starbucks making a killing from a rare Costa Rican coffee

November 28th, 2012 (InsideCostaRica.com) Starbucks has added to their menu the most expensive coffee it has ever sold, going for up to $7 per cup.
The coffee, known as Costa Rica Finca Palmilera, is only available in 48 stores in the United States.
The primo coffee is made from a rare type of Costa Rican coffee known as Geisha, that is notoriously difficult to grow.
An eight ounce bag of the whole bean coffee is sold for $40. A tall cup of the coffee (without milk) in one of the few Starbucks stores that sells it goes for $6, while the ‘grande’ is $7.
The coffee has proven to be a hit with coffee connoisseurs.
Half of all the Starbucks stores selling the premium coffee are in the U.S. city of Seattle.
