November 28th, 2012 (InsideCostaRica.com) The National Emergency Commission (CNE) declared a “green alert” yesterday for Limon and northern Costa Rica due to the presence of a new cold front, rivers which continue to rise, and ground that has been saturated with rain that has continued for the past 11 days.

The National Meteorological Institute’s reports that another cold front – the 4th one this year – will arrive in Costa Rica today, which will bring increased wind and rain.

“We will see a new cold front on Wednesday, which will mostly affect the Caribbean area, and there will also be more wind in the Central Valley and northern area,” said Daniel Poleo, a specialist in the Institute.

Specialists said that there would be more rain today, especially in the morning and in higher elevations.

They also said that the Central Valley and the Caribbean will see lower temperatures today compared to Monday and Tuesday, though the situation should improve late in the day and Thursday morning as the effect of the cold front begins to dissipate.
