November 21st, 2012 (InsideCostaRica.com) A diesel spill on one of the main roads in Moravia was the cause of six accidents yesterday.
The fuel was spilled on at least 500 meters of the road that passes behind the church in Moravia.
The mixture of diesel combined with light rains caused the road to become extremely slick.
According to witnesses, a fuel truck leaking the diesel passed by in the early morning, leaving the fuel on the road.
“There was diesel on the road, on the sidewalk, even in the gutter,” said a witness.
Four drivers crashed into parked cars as a result. Another driver was unable to come to a stop and ended up in a gutter.
Firemen eventually threw sawdust on the road in order to absorb the diesel.
