No New AH1N1 Flu Cases Reported in Costa
Rica For Three Consecutive Days
The last time the ministerio de Salud,
reported new cases of the AH1N1 flu was on
Tuesday. The ministra de Salud, Maria
Luisa Avila, confirmed on Friday that no new
cases of the flu have been reported for
three consecutive days.
The ministra said the toll stays at 37
confirmed cases and one death.
Avila said that 1.452 cases of suspected
AH1N1 infection have been investigated in
the country, of which 1.298 have been
discarded, with the remaining cases under
investigation and analysis.
According to the World Health Organization
(WHO) latest update of May 29, 2009, 53
countries have officially reported 15,510
cases of infection, including 99 deaths, in
Mexico (85), the United States (11), Canada
(2) and Costa Rica (1).
In Costa Rica a 53 year old man died on May
9 following complication from diabetes and
pneumonia. |
