Bolivia to OAS: End Cuba Injustice

La Paz -  Minister of Foreign Affairs David Choquehuanca stated that Bolivia would request the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS)'s session to end injustice against Cuba, the media reported Friday.

According to the Bolivarian News Agency, the diplomat said the delegation he leads will correct the 47 years of injustice committed against the island by excluding them from participating in this inter-American system of nations based on ideological and political reasons.

"We are working on a bill to lift the 1962 decision, 662, so that Cuba can decide whether or not it wants to participate in the OAS meetings," the text stressed.

The position of La Paz is in line with a document Honduras presented Thursday in the OAS Permanent Council to reverse the decision adopted in Punta del Este, Uruguay by foreign ministers of the regional organization.

The hemispheric event will take place in the Honduran city of San Pedro Sula next week.
