Thinkers in Caracas on Capitalist Crisis
Caracas -
Outstanding Latin American personalities
will be attending the Academic Meeting on
the Capitalist Crisis Wednesday through
Friday, coinciding with a meeting of ALBA
culture ministers.
The program will begin in the afternoon with
writers and thinkers gathering at the
Bolivar Plaza in Caracas to distribute
books, booklets, magazines and films, an
initiative to be carried out nationwide.
Sources from the Culture Ministry informed
some texts will be read in public to foster
interest in the creation of reading groups
throughout the country.
Among the personalities at the event are
Mexican economist Ana Esther Cecena,
Bolivian Hugo Moldiz, US researcher Eva
Golinger, journalists Manuel Cabieses,
Chile, and Hernando Calvo Ospina, Colombia,
and Cuban Culture Minister Abel Prieto.
The Venezuelan party will be represented by
historian and writer Luis Britto, journalist
Maria Alcira Matute, poet and literary
critic Gustavo Pereira, and historian Iraida
Vargas, among others.
