Guatemala -
Guatemalan Head of State, Alvaro Colom, is
scheduled to travel to Colombia on Tuesday
to attend an international meeting, sources
close to the president said.
Colom is expected to speak at the
International Congress on Disarmament,
Demobilization and Reintegration of People
from Armed Conflicts into Society, currently
in session at Cartagena de Indias.
Colom will take the opportunity to meet with
his Colombian peer Alvaro Uribe, who is
expected to pay a state visit to Guatemala
in mid year, according to the sources.
Colom is to be accompanied by government
officials, including ministers Haroldo Rodas
(Foreign Affairs) and Abraham Valenzuela
(Defense), among others.
