Santamaria
Temporarily Closed For Biden Refueling Stop
The Juan Santamaria (San Jose) international
airport was temporarily shut down for about
20 minutes yesterday afternoon when Air
Force Two touched down for a refueling stop.
The airplane is enroute to Chile where US
Vice-President, Joe Biden, will be making an
official visit in that country.
Biden will be in Costa Rica on Sunday to
meet with Costa Rican president, Oscar
Arias, and on Monday will attend a gathering
of the presidents of Central America, minus
Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega.
This will be the first official visit by
Biden to Costa Rica.
While in Chile, Biden will hold a bilateral
meeting with center-left Chilean President
Michelle Bachelet.
