Buenos Aires - An earthquake of 5.3 degrees
on Richter scale shocked on Monday the
central region of Argentina without leaving
victims and material damages.
The Argentine National Institute of Seismic
Prevention (Inpres) said that the movement
occurred at 6:15 a.m. local time (0915
GMT),its epicenter was in the province of
San Juan and it was felt in the provinces of
Cordoba, Santiago del Estero, La Rioja and
Catamarca.
In the localities near the epicenter the
intensity of the earthquake was of f III
grades in Mercalli scale.
