Guatemalan President Appoints New
Ministers
Guatemala - Guatemalan
President Alvaro Colom appointed on Monday
Mario Aldana as new Agriculture Minister and
Ruben Morales as Economy Minister.
Colom made these appointments after
accepting the resignations from former
ministers Julio Recinos and Romulo
Caballeros, according to information
reaching here from Guatemala City.
Recinos and Caballeros resigned for
"personal reasons," Colom said.
Aldana was Agriculture, Live-Stock and Food
Vice minister, while Morales was Integration
and Commerce Vice Minister.
On Monday, Colom met with the two new
ministers to explain to them the policies
and programs to boost the rural development
and handle the economic crisis.
