Cuban FM Starts NAM Debates on Women
Guatemala - Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Felipe Perez Roque assured that only by changing the unfair world order it will be possible to guarantee total benefit of the rights and the well-being of all women.

Perez Roque inaugurated the second Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement on the Advancement and challenges of Women in achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals.

He affirmed that the modest UN goals set back in 2000 won’t come true, definitely not for a shortage of money, but for lack of political will and ethical coherence, as demonstrated day by day.

He denounced million of dollars appeared to save banks, however, to fulfill UN millennium goals, there were no funds to give 150 billion dollars for this cause, a small amount of money if compared to what is destined to the financial systems.

It is time to join up to end the selfish waste and the intense consumption of those who threaten the future of our people and the life of our planet, the Minister expressed in his speech.

Perez Roque said another subject is the situation of Palestinian girls and women who were victims of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Cuban FM emphasized during his speech the importance of this encounter, where agreements on vital issues for the well-being of our countries and the progress of the legal and social condition of women population will be tackled.
