Where To Donate For
Earthquake Victims
The Cruz Roja
Costarricense - Red
Cross - (2542-5000), as
well as the
Ombudswoman's Office
(2248-2374) and the
Comision Nacional de
Emergencias - CNE-
(2210-2828) are co-ordinating
donations for Thursday's
earthquake victims.
The CNE has set up the
following back accounts
for donations:
Banco de Costa Rica (BCR):
91100-3 (colones) and
118281-1 (dollars) and
the Banco Nacional (BN)
: 911-8
In the case of the Banco
de Costa Rica, the bank
has pledged to match
donations colon for
colon up to ˘250 million
colones. The account
number set up by the
bank for donations is
001-250-0 for BCR
clients and for non-BCR
clients it is
15201001000025008.
The BCR said it will
match all donations made
up to January 23 up to
the ˘250 million limit.

button at the top of the
page or by phoning 506
2258 9191.
The Instituto
Costarricense de
Electricidad (ICE) ias
also accepting doantions
using any cellular phone
by simply sending a SMS
text message with the
word "DONAR" to any of
the following number,
depending on the amount
of the donation:

2423 - ˘2.000
5423 - ˘5.000
9423 - ˘9.000
The Costa-Rica American
Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM)
located north of the ICE
building in La Sabana is
also accepting donations
to their colones account
at the Banco Nacional:
