Nicaragua Oil Refinery Feasible
Managua - A
study carried out by the Instituto
Nicaragüense de Estudios Territoriales (INETER)
has okayed the construction of the "El
Supremo Sueño de Bolívar" (Bolivar´s Supreme
Dream) oil refinery in western Nicaragua.
INETER Director Alejandro Rodriguez says the
refinery to be built with support from
Venezuela in the sector of Miramar, in front
of the Pacific Ocean, is part of the
integration process promoted by the
Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas
(ALBA).
INETER submitted to France´s Axens
consulting firm Axens a geological study of
the area where the refinery, a petrochemical
and electric plant and a port are expected
to be built.
According to our research, the area is
feasible for constructing the refinery,
Rodriguez claimed.
French Axens is the company in charge of
conducting a feasibility study.
