Panama Election Observers Announced
Panama - Panama's
Electoral Court (TE) announced on Wednesday
the participation of 25 diplomatic
representatives accredited as international
observers by the country for the general
elections on May 3rd.
The initiative was put forward during a
meeting with the Diplomatic Corps in Panama
to explain issues related to the
organization of the process, including new
electoral factors for this year.
Magistrate Eduardo Valdes, who is the
Director of the General Election Plan (PLAGEL),
presented all the work done so far. He
highlighted the recruiting of more than
20,000 citizens with no party affiliation,
who will be trained to work at polling
stations.
The diplomats were informed about new
factors in the upcoming elections, including
voting by people living abroad, people in
jail, in hospitals and in old people's
