Film Expo on Cuban Five
in Guatemala
A film journey dedicated
to the Cuban Five was
held in this capital
Thursday, as it is
customary during the
last week this month.
This time, a documentary
based on an interview by
British network BBC to
Gerardo Hernandez, one
of the Cuban Five, who
is serving a double life
prison sentence when he
was just trying to
prevent his country on
the terrorist actions by
anti-Cuban groups in
Miami, was presented
here.
The documentary film
unveils how unfair the
trial against the Cuban
Five was, and shows
images on the training
received by
counterrevolutionaries
in the US, who are
responsible for
thousands of aggressions
against Cuba.
The documentary film
also shows the double
standard of the US
policy, sentencing the
Cuban Five while leaving
a renowned terrorist
like Luis Posada
Carriles, the author of
the blow-up of a Cuban
plane in flight that
cost the life of 73
people.
Besides this film
organizers presented a
Guatemalan film called
"VIP, La Otra Casa" by
Elias Jimenez and Rafael
Rosal, two graduates of
the Latin American Movie
School in San Antonio de
los Baños, Cuba.
The Guatemalan film
reflects the hard
reality of prisons in
Guatemala and the
corruption as one of the
most extended social
evils in this Central
