Venezuela Military Supports Chavez
General Jesus Gregorio Gonzalez, chief of the Venezuelan Armed Forces' Strategic Operational Command (CEOFAN), on Monday ratified his commitment to the government of President Hugo Chavez, and the Constitution.

"It is untrue there is discontent and antipathy towards the government among our officers of soldiers, as some unofficial sources are deceitfully state," the military chief pointed out.

"Our headquarters and military units are at the service of the people, and represent one of the largest forces of the Bolivarian revolution," Gonzalez highlighted during En Confianza TV program.

The general affirmed there is a growing commitment to the government within the troops, and denied stories by some media and individuals about alleged frustration in the sector.

"Venezuelan soldiers have joined with willingness and happiness all social missions in the country linked to political initiatives by our Commander," the officer stressed.

"We have made a major effort in this process in favor of the needy, but without disregarding our military training," Gonzales added.
