Venezuela PSUV Party
Enters New Phase
The United Socialist
Party of Venezuela (PSUV)
enters Sunday a new
phase to deal with key
political challenges.
Ten party commissions
will address
Coordination,
Organization, Election
Procedure, Finances and
Logistics, Communication
and Proselytism,
International Affair,
and Social Movements and
the People's Power.
Venezuelan and PSUV
President Hugo Chavez
appointed the leaders of
the ten regional vice
presidencies within a
package of measures to
brace the new party's
structure from the very
grass root.
The commissions will be
soon joined by teams for
political work at each
state and will
reactivate the
battalions (grass root
cells), as steps prior
to the November regional
elections of 600
governors, majors and
town council members.
President Chavez noted
the relevance for the
forces backing the
revolution to preserve
their positions and
fight and win ground now
in power of the
opposition at a time, he
said, when "the big US
imperialist machinery is
determined to attack the
Revolution by every
possibly means" he
said. "The best tribute
to the two slain
brothers is to respect
the rules of democracy."
