About 2.3 Million
Panamanians to Vote in
2009
The Panamanian Electoral
Court stated that 2.3
million people could
vote in the May 3, 2009
elections, according to
a Sunday report.
Electoral Court general
secretary Zoila Penalba
said that April 30 is
the deadline to update
information in the
electoral register.
Penalba noted that 23
commissions have been
created to deal with all
related to elections.
She informed that the
Court has a budget close
to $11 million, an
amount that could reach
almost $17 million in
2009.
Panamanians must elect
their President, two
vice presidents,
Parliament members,
mayors and councilor
representatives for a
five-year mandate. |
