Conavi Announces
Suspension of Toll
Charges During Holiday
The Consejo Nacional de
Vialidad (Conavi)
informed yesterday that
it will suspend payment
of tolls beginning at
noon on Thursday and
continue to 6:00am
Saturday morning.
The free passage will be
at all five toll booths
around the Central
Valley.
Toll booths are located
on the autopista General
Cañas east of the
airport; the autopista
Bernardo Soto south of
the Naranjo exit; the
autopista Florencio del
Castillo west of Terral
Mall in Tres Ríos; the
autopista Fernando
Prospero, east of
Multiplaza, in Escazú;
and route 32, the
highway to Limòn, south
of the Zurquí tunnel.
The charge for tolls for
passenger vehicles is
¢75 colones, though
drivers can pay the
voluntary ¢100 colones
using the express lane,
leaving San José, except
at Naranjo where the
toll is ¢150 colones for
all passenger vehicles
coming into San José.
The objective of the
tolls charged are to be
used to finance the
repair and maintenance
of the nations highways. |
