Former Nicaragua FM Runs
for UN Chairmanship
Supported by the Latin
American and Caribbean
Group, the Nicaraguan
government on Sunday
reiterated the
candidature of former
Foreign Minister Miguel
D' Escoto to preside
over the coming period
of sessions of the UN
General Assembly.
According to a report in
the official government
website, the foreign
minister of the
Sandinista Revolution
between 1979 y 1990 has
a vast experience in
solving international
problems.
D' Escoto Brockman, a
Mariknoll priest with
PhD in Communication
made several diplomatic
tasks worldwide in the
1980s, featuring the
trial against the US at
International Court of
Justice in The Hague.
According to Nicaraguan
Foreign Minister Samuel
Santos, Latin American
and Caribbean countries
fully support D'
