Added Police Presence At
The Borders
The Policía de Fronteras
(border police) will now
be part of the
Ministerio Gobernación,
Policía y Seguridad
Pública (MSP), according
to an agreement signed
by the security minster,
Janina del Vecchio.
The move is to allow the
Policía de Fronteras to
come under the direction
of the Fuerza Pública
and take advantage of
the large resources of
the national police
force that is present in
every corner of the
country.
The move will allow more
control of the land
borders with more
police.
The maritime borders
will continue to be
under the control of the
Servicio Nacional de
Guardacostas (national
coast guard) and the
Servicio de vigilancia
aérea (aerial
surveillance unit).
