One Third of Employers
Surveyed Expect Job
Growth
According to Manpower in
Costa Rica nationwide
survey, a third of Costa
Rican employers plan to
hire during the next
quarter. Manufacturing
jobs are expected to be
show the biggest growth,
while there is expected
little growth in the
areas of agriculture,
fishing and mining.
The survey includes 625
employers throughout the
country and includes
their plans for hiring
between July and
September.
Although 61% said they
would not be hiring, 32%
planned expansion, while
5% said they would
cutting jobs.
The survey indicated
that the Heredia
province will see the
biggest job growth rate
as the work pool in the
province north of San
José expands, while the
provinces of Puntarenas
and Limón are expected
to see the smallest
growth.
Last year Manpower saw
similar results for this
time of year, where the
largest employment
growth for 2007 was in
the construction,
transportation and
communication sectors.
