Venezuelan Bank Hostages Released
Authorities of Venezuela's CICPC (Criminal Investigation Corps) announced on Tuesday the release of hostages held in a bank in Altagracia de Orituco, in the state of Guarico.

In remarks to Venezolana de Television, CICPC Capt. Vicente Alamo said the four captors were allowed to retreat in an ambulance as requested, presumably accompanied by some of the people who were inside the facility.

Health services entered the bank to verify the condition of the hostages, including several minors and a pregnant woman.

Governor of the bank, Eduard Manuitt, said that on Monday morning four people tried unsuccessfully to hold up the bank.

He noted that the captors were told they would be given all guarantees if they surrendered.

Minister of Interior and Justice Ramon Rodriguez Chacin said that the criminals, who have been duly identified, had taken drugs and presumably liquor, which made the situation more difficult, as they carried firearms.
