Venezuela (PSUV) enters
Monday a new electoral
battle to activate
mechanisms for the
definitive presidential
re-election.
After the overwhelming
victory in the November
23 regional and
municipal elections, the
PSUV will move members
to get 15 percent of
signatures regarding the
necessary electoral roll
to propose the reform.
For Freddy Bernal,
vicepresident of the
nation's main political
force, it is possible to
achieve the next goal
after the overwhelming
triumph of the
elections, in which the
country attained over
three fourths of 603
posts in dispute.
President Hugo Chavez
authorized his followers
Sunday to mobilize to
achieve the
constitutional reform
and approve the
definitive reelection of
the Republic's
president.
"They are authorized to
start the national
debate and take actions
in the National Assembly
and if God wants and my
health allows me, I am
ready to be with you
until 2019 and 2021, as
people wish," Chavez
said at a popular rally.
The statesman's
announcement took place
after mentioning some
attacks against social
missions boosted by his
government since 2003,
in states won by the
opposition like Miranda
and Tachira. |
