Colombia: 11 Million Fake Euros Seized
BOGOTA -  A total of 11 million forged euros were seizured by Colombian DIJIN (the Judicial Police Department), it was known Friday.

This is the largest seizure of fake euros outside Europe, as a result of a nine month-long operation in Bogota in collaboration with EUROPOL and the Investigation Brigade of the Bank of Spain.

A person in charge of an illegal laser printing press was arrested in northern Bogota while printing counterfeit 200 euros and 50 euros bills of very high quality bound for distribution in Europe, a EUROPOL expert said.

Colombia and EUROPOL have jointly carried out several successful operations against organized crime in line with a strategic cooperation agreement signed in February 2004.
