PARLACEN Case
GUATEMALA - Guatemalan
security forces captured
former deputy Manuel de
Jesus Castillo, linked
with the murder of three
Salvadoran
representatives of the
Central American
Parliament (PARLACEN)
and their driver.
Nery Morales, National
Civil Police spokesman,
confirmed the arrest in
an operation made in the
eastern department of
Jutiapa.
Castillo was a fugitive
of the Guatemalan
justice since January
2008, and pointed out as
the intellectual author
of the murder of
parliamentary deputies
Eduardo D¨ Aubuisson,
William Pichinte, Jose
Ramón González and
driver Gerardo Napoleón
Ramírez.
The interior Minister
will offer a press
conference around the
capture of Castillo
Friday.
The PARLACEN members
were murdered on
February 19, 2007 when
they were travelling to
this capital to attend a
meeting. |
