Man Shoots And Kills His
Wife in Cold Blood For
Cheating On Him
In a jealous rage, an
Alajuela man shoots in
cold blood his wife and
mother of his four
children and then
attempted suicide.
José González Castro,
54, was fully expressive
to television cameras
while handcuffed to a
window bar of the local
Tacacoría, Alajuela,
police station, as to
why he killed his wife,
Emma Jiménez Quirós, 41,
shooting her four times.
Castro, who had under
court order to stay away
from his estranged wife,
and without remorse,
said he had a strong
motive for killing her:
the woman had cheated on
him and had taken
everything from him.
According to witnesses,
the man confronted his
wife, which at the time
she was in the company
of two her children and
in a heroic maneuver
shelter her children,
saving them from the
bullets that were coming
her way from her
estranged husband's gun.
The incident occurred at
high noon and it wasn't
the first time that the
man had gone looking for
his wife.
Castro had planned on
killing himself after
shooting his wife. He
told police that he had
left a note for "them
and the press" under his
pillow.
Witnesses say that the
man shot his wife in
cold blood, when at
close range he fired his
gun four times against
the woman, blood
spattering in all
directions.
The ringing of the shots
alerted neighbours who
came out of their homes
to see what was going
on, finding José
watching his women dying
before him.
"I was also going to
kill myself", he told
the television news
cameras while sitting on
the police station
bench.
What stopped the man's
suicide is the
intervention of
neighbours who tackled
him and began beating
him to ply the firearm
away from him. |
