Earthquake Shakes Costa
Rica
An earthquake
registering 6 points on
the Richter scale was
felt throughout half the
country.
The epicentre was
located 122 kilometres
south of Laurel de
Corredores, in the
Pacific ocean, on the
Panama fault.
Javier Pacheco of the
Observatorio
Vulcanológico y
Sismológico de Costa
Rica (Ovsicori),
explained that the
territory is part of the
border between the two
countries.
The head of the Cruz
Roja (Red Cross), Saúl
Morales, for the area
said that the earthquake
shook the area hard,
people fearing that
their houses would fall
on them.
The quake was so strong
