Transport To Go On
Strike
Nicaraguan public
transportation operators
announced a national
strike and protest march
for Thursday to pressure
the government over high
fuel prices, the
National Transportation
Coordinator's Office
announced on Tuesday.
However, the Independent
Taxi Cooperative Union
announced an agreement
with Nicaragua President
Daniel Ortega ó s
government to supply
cheap fuel to all public
transportation
cooperatives in the
capital.
There will be a
reduction per gallon of
fuel, said Jose Mario
Mendoza, the guild
president, who held that
therefore a strike is
not necessary if there
are substantial
agreements.
Other sector groups

from that sector
disagree and threaten a
national strike on
