Argentine Airlines Suspends Flights

Argentine Airlines Suspends Flights
Argentine Airlines (Aerloineas Argentinas) suspended its national and international flights Thursday in order to comply with "strict security measures," the Association of Airline Pilots (APLA) stated in a communique.

The airline suspended its flights "to avoid transgressing regulations" following the resignation of Operations Manager Daniel Riva. The airline "must comply with that management position to fulfill the legal requirements to carry out flight operations," APLA added.

Riva presented his resignation following a "demand from (the ministry) of justice ordering the reinstallment of Jose Luis Bailac as A-310 aid," the APLA said.

The measure left hundreds of passengers stranded at Buenos Aires' domestic Aeroparque airport and the Ezeiza international airport.
