Child Prostitutes Returned to Honduras
Nearly 200 girl victims of prostitution were repatriated to Honduras in the first five months of this year, from the United States, Mexico and Guatemala, confirmed Honduras Alliance House director Manuel Capellin.

The minors, The Childhood District Attorney's Office and Migration authorities of implicated nations were involved in the rescue and return of the minors, between 12 and 17 years old, who received the attention of specialists working in this humanitarian organization, he explained.

Criminals in child traffic trick the girls' families and move the children from one place of exploitation to another, forcing them to work in nightclubs as prostitutes.

The sale and smuggling of children is a product of the prevailing misery in the world, the decadence of the civil system and little access to education and alternative sources of income, Capellin explained.

After drug traffic, illegal gambling and prostitution, child slavery is one of the most lucrative forms of organized transnational crime.
