Latin American Leaders
for Health Access
Health authorities from
23 countries agreed
today on universal
health access and the
role of primary care at
the Ninth Ibero-American
Health Ministers
Conference, which will
finish this afternoon.
The Chilean minister of
this branch, Soledad
Barria, who opened the
preparatory meeting of
the forthcoming Ibero-American
Summit, to be held on
November, called to
concentrate efforts on
universal health access.
The Cuban Vice Minister
of Public Health, Marcia
Cobas Ruiz, said that
social coherence could
only be achieved with
bottom up policy change.
She pointed out that
those values would have
to include equity, the
right to work,
education, solidarity,
participation, social
justice, no
discrimination, dignity,
sovereignty, and others.
She finished by saying
that the Cuban State
focuses its Public
Policies on coherence
and social protection. |
