Plane Repair Centre in
Panama
The leading company of
the Israeli military
industrial complex will
establish a plane repair
centre in Panama, and an
aeronautical academy,
Panama's daily, La
Prensa, reported on
Sunday.
The Israeli Aerospace
Industries (IAI)
produces airplanes and
missiles of different
types, some of them in
association with the US
or European firms, and
has 15,000 employees.
IAI will begin investing
in the construction of a
storage centre of parts
and accessories at
Tocumen airport in
Panama city, which will
start operations in
June.
Initially, IAI will
replace damaged parts in
the airplanes of its
client airlines, while
its headquarters in
Israel repairs them,
said the source.
The company aims to take
advantage of the
geographical position of
Panama to control the
plane repair business of
the airlines operating
in the American
