April 21st, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) The State Border Service of Panama (SENAFRONT) has reported the arrest of Sage Million, a 61-year-old American man who was wanted in the U.S. for terroristic threats and sexual assault of a minor.

The suspect was captured last Wednesday while attempting to enter Panama from Costa Rica through a mountainous area of the province of Chiriqui, Panama, which borders Costa Rica.

According to police, Million hid in brush far from the official border until he believed he was not being seen, at which time he attempted to cross into Panamanian territory.

When approached by police, Million identified himself as an American citizen and provided his passport, but was taken into custody after further review determined he was wanted in the United States.

Million’s arrest warrants are apparently from the U.S. state of Hawaii.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Million may have been living in Volcan de Chiriqui in Panama’s Chiriqui province with his wife and daughter.

Authorities believe Million may have been hiding somewhere in Costa Rica for several days.  It is not clear why Million was in Costa Rica.

Editor’s note: This story was edited at 11am to correct several instances of the suspect’s last name from “Millon” to “Million.”  The suspect’s correct name is Sage “Million.”
