August 29th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The Regulatory Authority for Public Services (ARESEP) has announced price increases for gasoline and diesel in September. The agency has also approved an increase in taxi fares.
ARESEP’s Carolina Mora said that premium gasoline will increase by ¢ 17 per liter (about $0.13 per gallon), regular (“plus”) gasoline will increase by ¢ 21 per liter (about $0.16 per gallon), and diesel will increase by ¢ 10 per liter (about $0.075 per gallon).
With the adjustments, the price of super gasoline will increase from ¢ 738 to ¢ 755 per liter (about $5.72/gallon), regular gasoline will increase from ¢ 708 to ¢ 739 per liter (about $5.60/gallon), and diesel will increase from ¢ 623 to ¢ 633 per liter (about $4.80/gallon).
Taxi fares will also increase by ¢ 10 per kilometer, both for the initial kilometer and the entire trip.
