U2′s Bono in Costa Rica, wife may have been injured in quad accident

February 21st, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Irish singer Bono of the band U2, and his wife Alison Hewson, have apparently been in Costa Rica since February 11th, as confirmed by the Directorate General of Immigration.

 

Paul David Hewson (the singer’s real name) and Alison Hewson arrived at shortly after 9:30pm at the Juan Santamaria airport that day.

 

According to the press department of Immigration, as of noon yesterday they have no record of the couple having left the country.

 

During the last 48 hours, rumors have circulated that Bono’s wife suffered an accident while riding an ATV on one of the country’s beaches.

 

Due to supposed injuries, Alison would have been taken to helicopter to CIMA Hospital in Escazu.

 

Merciela Retana, public relations officer for CIMA, said they were not authorized to provide information on patient admissions.

 

Bono, 53, and Alison, 52 were married in 1982 and are the parents of four children, who live most of the year in Ireland.
