February 20th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The president of Costa Rica’s Commission on Human Rights, Justo Orozco, wants the Spanish doctor Jokin de Irala to present his “homosexuality as a disorder” ideas with Congress.
“I would love the doctor to come to the Legislature. His views are very compatible with what we believe,” Orozco said.
The legislator said “homosexual relations carry bad consequences.”
“Actually, the membranes of the anus are not prepared to put anything into them, and when penetrated, fecal incontinence occurs, that is what I read in encyclopedias and magazines, though I have not [experienced it],” Orozco said.
The invitation sparked condemnation by Carmen Munoz of the Citizen Action Party (PAC), who asked that the Spanish doctor be prevented entry to the Legislature.
Munoz said that the doctor should not be allowed to present his ideas to the Legislature as the doctor describes homosexuality as a “disorder of human development” which can be cured with “specialized therapy.”
The lawmaker asked the president of Congress, Victor Emilio Granados to not allow the use of resources “to encourage activities that discriminate.”
Lawmakers abruptly removed a bill that would introduce some civil union rights for gays earlier this month.
