MERCOSUR Women's Meeting in Paraguay
Asuncion - Paraguay will lead and chair pro
tempore the 21st Meeting of Women within the
Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR).
The Women's Secretariat, sponsor of the May
26-29 event, says two technical tables will
address violence against women and jailed
female immigrants, females in law
enforcement and the army and gender within
trade.
The event will also involve a regional
seminar on human trafficking and means to
prevent and punish it in Argentina, Brazil,
Paraguay and Uruguay.
The meeting will gather MERCOSUR ministers
for female affairs plus officials from
Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia,
Mexico and Venezuela.
