Argentina is today a strategic partner, an
ally we can count on to develop our
agro-industry, affirmed the Venezuelan
minister of Science, Technology and
Industry, Jesse Chacon. "But we do not
intend to receive it free. We are able to
offer everything we have developed regarding
energy development," he told local press.
Chacon was part of a delegation accompanying
Hugo Chavez on his visit this week and in
which 13 new agreements of cooperation were
signed.
During his stay he visited the National
Institute of Technology, Industry where he
said that the support of allied countries is
fundamental to allow Venezuela to advance
rapidly in the construction of a socialist
industrial model.
"The Venezuelan model is being defined and
we cannot say it is complete but there are
areas where we have advanced," he pointed
out Sunday to the Pagina 12 daily.
This progress is evidenced in the
identification of potential in relation to
allies such as China in satellite
development, Argentina in agro-food or in
the development of new industries depending
on population demands and needs, he
explained.
With this same decision of giving priority
of the requirements of the people,
scientific research is boosted, he said, and
explained that "if there is no application,
there are no resources."
"There is no subsidy for studies to end in a
"paper" or simply to give prestige to the
author," he concluded. |
