Venezuela Sign Cooperation Agreements

President Cristina Fernandez and her
Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez signed on
Friday several cooperation agreements to
foster relations.
These agreements, following a meeting
between the two leaders at the Argentine
presidential palace, cover a number of
fields of science, technology, oil, finance,
agriculture and wine production.
Chavez said at a press conference that his
country signed these agreements "with
passion and compromise," which were "the
strongest solution" to strengthen ties with
Argentina.
"The Argentine problems are not only from
the Argentines, but also from the
Venezuelans," he said, urging a "need of
unity" between both countries.
Chavez also called for accelerated regional
integration, saying it is "even more
pressing amid the global downturn."
