Fuerza Pública Defends His "Hermano", Pilot
of Crashed Helicopter
Edgar Arguedas Alfaro, the pilot of the
helicopter TI-BBT, that crashed in the Cerro
de la Muerte last Friday, with 295 kilos of
cocaine on board, participated in many
anti-drug actions of the Fuerza Pública,
according to the former director of the
national police force, José Fabio Pizarro.
Pizarro was just one of many that attended
the Arguedas funeral in Heredia, telling the
press that Arguedas was more than a friend,
but an "hermano".
The former director, who was on hand in the
area of accident, though he could not reach
the crash site, confirmed that Arguedas
participated in many anti-drug actions while
employed for more than a decade as a pilot
for the Sección Aérea del ministerio de
Seguridad Pública.
Pizarro said that his friend must have
gotten caught up with the drug traffickers,
who, once they have you in their sights, you
cannot say no to, who will threaten the
lives of family and friends. "When drug
traffickers knock on your door, if you say
no, you know the problems that will bring. I
know of no one who has been able to avoid
these types of situations", said Pizarro in
defending the decisions of his friend.
The former director is sure that Arguedas
did not offer his services to the drug
traffickers, saying that he know the type of
person hi was, and would never put offer
himself under any condition. "He was were he
was for being in the line of fire of the
drug traffickers", added Pizarro.
