Panama Transition Moves Ahead
Panama
- Panamanian Foreign
Minister Samuel Lewis received on Thursday
vice president-elect Juan Carlos Varela to
discuss government transition-related
issues. The meeting at the Foreign Ministry
headquarters was also attended by Minister
of the Presidency Rafael Mezquita and future
Foreign minister Kimmy Papadimitriu,
according to a FM communiqué.
Varela said "the transition process is
evolving in a coordinate way, as wished by
president-elect Ricardo Martinelli, and the
agenda for this month has been practically
established."
We are optimistic that this will be an
historic step in the country and "an example
for democracy and future generations," said
Papadimitriu. |
