Peruvian Airline Reasserts Cuban Tourism Peak

Havana - The growth of Cuban tourism received a great support with the announcement of the Cuban Tourism Ministry (MINTUR) on a new flight by Peruvian airline TACA from Lima to Havana.

The report pointed out that Lima and Havana were connected by direct flights of the Peruvian airline.

The opening of this air channel occurred on March 26 with a flight with the participation of 39 tour operators and 15 journalists from Peru, and passengers from Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

These operations will be with three weekly frequencies, with doors opened for other customers.

Cuba took care of more than 2.3 million tourists last year, after two years of decrease, an exceptional result in the Caribbean area.

MINTUR said that from January to February this year, a growth in the sector was reported in 5.2 percent, which reasserts the progress expectations.
