Morales Calls Bolivians to MAS Victory

Potosi, Bolivia -  President Evo Morales summoned Bolivian people to guarantee a resounding victory of MAS (Movement towards Socialism) in the General Elections to happen February 6, as a means to consolidate the process of change.

We do want and can achieve victory with more than the 70 percent of the voting, we are not far from winning, he expressed at Potosi Campo de Marte stadium, where he led the celebration of the fourteenth anniversary of the governing political force.

According to the President, such a victory would pave the way for the initiatives addressed to the economic and social progress of Bolivia.

Morales stressed the importance of increasing public awareness over the current process of change led by ruling Movement towards Socialism, MAS.

According to the governor, in addition to elections, the organization, founded on 1995, prioritizes the training of leaders committed with the current changes.

Bolivian leader highlighted the indigenous origins of that organization, previously called IPSP (Political Instrument for the Sovereignty of the Peoples) and later IPSP-MAS, was mainly based from the beginnings on the commitment of people to fight for the sovereignty of Bolivia.

From that time on, permanent struggles to change Bolivia and confront a neo-liberal system took place.

As a result of all those struggles, he explained, the new Political Constitution of the State emerged, in force since February 2009, for the first time ratified by the peoples on Jan. 25.
