Legislators Ask For Arias To Be Investigated
For Mining Concessions Irregularities
Legislators of the Partido Acción Ciudadana
(PAC) say their action against Costa Rican
president, Oscar Arias, before the
Procuraduría de la Ética (Ethics Attorney),
as they feel the president transgressed
legal and ethical standards of
administration and the state.
In a press communication, the PAC, says that
Arias back in November 2006, signed a mining
concession that benefited a company of his
cousin, Jorge Sanchez Dobles and relatives
of the now former environment minister,
Roberto Dobles, who resigned last week
following allegations of impropriety over
mining concessions.
According to the head of the PAC party
legislators, Francisco Molina, the deed is
serious and merits and investigation.
Molina said that what Arias did with one
hand, he erased with an elbow, referring to
the president's call for ethical principles
set out for all government workers. |
