Chile's Bachelet to US, Mexico

Chile - Chilean President Michelle Bachelet,
who is to start a visit to the United States Monday,
will analyze with US statesman Barack Obama
bilateral and regional ties.
This is the second Latin American president visiting
the White House, after Brazilian President Luiz
Inacio Lula da Silva in March, reported Chilean
media.
Foreign Minister Mariano Fernandez, who was Chile's
ambassador to the United States up to some time ago,
termed Obama's interview for Tuesday afternoon very
important.
The meeting will enhance bilateral links and
generate spaces for a "regional dialogue."
According to reports, Bachelet and Obama will
firstly meet in private, and then with their
respective foreign, finance and energy ministers,
ambassadors and advisors.
The Chilean head of State, who is accompanied by
several ministers, parliamentarians and business
people, will travel Mexico on Wednesday.
She expects to meet with President Felipe Calderon
and recall the 10 years of the Free Trade Agreement
between both countries. |
