Work On New
Road To Escazú To Add To Traffic Congestion
Brace yourself for more traffic congestion
beginning tomorrow, Monday, as several road
closures around the La Sabana will add to
the daily headaches drivers face around the
area.
The Ministerio de Obras Públicas y
Transportes (MOPT) announced the road
closures to complete work on the new route
between La Sabana, the Hatillos and Escazú.
The closures will be for about three weeks
and will affect traffic on the
Circunvalación.
The closure will begin at the Calle Morenos,
in La Sabana, south of the Sabana park, to
complete the road that will connect to Bello
Horizonte de Escazú.
MOPT minister, Karla González, said the road
work connecting La Sabana to Escazú should
be finished by August and will ease traffic
on the entrance to Escazú, as traffic will
then be able to move to and from La Sabana
to west of the Riteve station, in Bello
Horizonte de Escazú.
Ministra González said the traffic
congestion is in the name of development.
