Kirchner Leads Buenos Aires Polls
Buenos Aires - In survey wars over legislative
elections on June 28, former president Nestor
Kirchner looks like a possible winner in the
decisive province of Buenos Aires.
Results widely broadcast on Sunday by the press give
the candidate for the Frente para la Victoria (FPV)
10 percentage points over his closest rival,
Francisco de Narvaez (Union-PRO).
Kirchner and Buenos Aires governor, Daniel Scioli,
head the FPV list that disputes 35 seats of national
deputies in the last lap while de Narvaez will be
accompanied by Felipe Sola.
In declarations to the daily Pagina 12, Amalia Del
Franco of the Analogias Survey institution pointed
out that since the lists of candidates were made
official, measures demonstrate a change.
Also, there will be a counting of weaknesses seen in
the adversaries, basically Union-PRO that has moved
to deal with problems of an electoral alliance, she
pointed out.
For their part, Hugo Haime of Haime and Associates
agreed that strategic errors in the campaign of
Union-PRO leads to a question of how close to the 10
points difference there will be between Kirchner and
De Narvaez.
Referring to the elections in this capital, where 13
seats are in play for national deputies, surveys
give the triumph to PRO candidate, Gabriela Michetti.
According to Haime, Michetti leads voting intentions
with about 30 percentage points while second place
is disputed between Alfonso Prat Gay, Carlos Heller
and Fernando or Pino or Solanas.
For Del Franco, however, the second place seems
assured for Prat Gay of Acuerdo Civico y Social
while Heller (Frente para la Victoria) and either
Pino or Solanas of the Movimiento Proyecto Sur,
fight for third place.
