Gasoline Price Hike Around The
Corner
Tighten the belt some as a new round
of gasoline price hikes are headed
our way.
The price of gasoline is set to jump
¢46 colones for a litre of diesel,
¢40 for super and ¢37 for regular by
the middle of June, as the latest
approved increases by the Autoridad
Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos
(regulatory agency) kicks in.
So, come the middle of June, the
price of a litre of super will go
from the current ¢452 to ¢492;
regular from ¢435 to ¢472' and
diesel from ¢354 to ¢400.
The increase is due to the increase
in crude oil prices on international
markets which has been steadily
climbing in the past several weeks,
reaching all time high of us$69 a
barrel for the last eight months.
