Obese Man 7th Becomes A/H1N1 Flu

The ministra de Salud, Marํa Luisa มvila,
said on Tuesday that a seventh person has
been confirmed to have died from an
infection of the AH1N1 flu virus.
The seventh death is that of 24 year
old man, who died on Saturday from
respiratory complications related to his
obesity and smoking addiction.
Salud officials are looking into two more
deaths of persons that could have been
infected as well.
So far, a to al of 428 A/H1N1 flu cases have
been confirmed in Costa Rica, with 20
suspected cases waiting on exam results.
The ministra said that Costa Rica is in at
the peak of the pandemic and more confirmed
cases and deaths are certain during the next
2 to 4 weeks.
Avila bases her statement on the experience
in Mexico and the US when they were at their
peaks.
Costa Rica reported its first A/H1N1 flu
death case on May 9.
